There are so many foods I miss eating. I just finished round 2 of radiation in 8 months and battling recurrent thrush. When will the ulcers go away so I can eat better?

Im sure you are not feeling the best right now. You should have hopefully had an easier time of it since you already knew the ropes. I know its horrible trying to recover from rads. Keep up the good nutrition and hydration plus adding some high protein powder will help you heal faster. Push to take in a minimum of 2500 calories and 48 oz of water every single day. Rinse with 16 oz of warm water, 2 tsp baking soda and 2 tsp salt (if you can tolerate it if not cut it back or omit the salt). Rinse several times per day and this will help your sore mouth. Also Magic Mouthwash will help numb your mouth if you are allowed to try eating and drinking. You are taking meds for thrush right?

PS .... When you have time, please add a signature. It greatly helps us to get to know you much faster when we know your history. Click on the "My Stuff" tab, on the dropdown menu click on "My Profile". Scroll to the bottom and type your info in the white box and click "Submit".

Vet - maybe try manuka honey for the ulcers and thrush... It may help. Sorry you're going through this again... Take care
