When it first started happening, I was worried I was getting shingles but that is usually one sided, and there is no rash. It was preceded by back pain and I thought that was attributed to snow shovelling. The back pain is gone. It's bilateral and uniform in sensation. If I keep warm, it doesn't happen. It's almost like, especially the back of my upper arms, the skin is hypersensitive.
Any ideas? If it lasts more than a week or so, I'll give my onc a call.

It was localized to only my tongue when I went outside when it was very cold out. My cancer was on my cheek and jaw, not my tongue so I couldnt figure out what was wrong. It only happened maybe 15 times for about the first winter after finishing treatments then stopped as suddenly as it started. The name escapes me right now but I will remember it at 3am in the morning and post then . Peripheral neuropathy is also a common side effect of cisplatin. Sounds to me like you have some sort of variation on a cisplatin induced neuropathy? Also, thyroid damage might make you sensitive to cold too ... just a thought...
