I just found another pea-sized mass in my neck. It's practically in the same spot as the last mass that I found. After my initial SND (29 nodes clear), I found a mass this past summer, had an excisional biopsy of 3 more negative nodes. I've been battling a cold and cough all week. I'm trying not to freak out like I did last time. I have a follow up appointment on 1/13/11. I'm not sure if I should wait or call for a sooner appointment. Anxiety peaking again! Kerri

NOT for any physical reason, but because I don't think new moms need any extra stress this time of year. Best wishes for the coming new year.

I just called his office and he is off until Tuesday. The man definitely deserves a vacation! I'm going to watch it and give him a call next week to see if he wants to see me sooner of schedule a scan ahead of time. If this is what it's going to be like all the time, I think I might have a nervous break down!

Try to stay busy. With having children that shouldnt be too difficult! Hope it turns out to be nothing more than an infection causing it. I had the same thing on the other side of my neck. I had a very bad cold and cough. I felt my neck and felt small lump I went into panic mode. Where to go first the CC or my Internist. I called my Internist, went in to see him same day. He gave me prescription cough syrup, antibiotic, within days it was gone. I feel that side of my neck daily nothing there.
I hope this is what it is with you. Keep us posted.
Take care, Connie

Connie, I think I will go to the walk-in clinic tomorrow because I have been wheezing pretty badly now and think it might be time for antibiotics. I'm supposed to work all weekend, but I don't think that's going to happen. I'll be sure to keep you all posted! xoxo and Happy, healthy New Year for us all!

Yes, gets some meds. I had the same problem wheezing and all that terrible cough and cold is going around. When I went in to see him he was going to give me 250 mg of Amoxicillin I told him that's not going to work I need 500mg. Then he said take Robitussin over the counter, yeah right!! I said, that's not going to work I need presciption cough meds. He was very reluctant to give it to me, not sure what's up with that. I'm not one who sees a Dr. every month. Got what I needed and in 10 days all was well and the small lump on the side of my neck was gone.
I understand the panic mode. Hope the meds work for you it might be an infection that's what I had.
I hope the New Year is better for all of us.
Take care, Connie

I went to the urgent care center and had a chest x-ray, which was fine. He gave me prednisone for 5 days and levoquin (broad-spectrum antibiotic)for 7 days. Let's hope that does it!
Happy and healthy New Year!
xoxo, Kerri
