Just wanted to update everyone. We've had to reschedule Steve's surgery. His dad has melanoma and a couple of months ago we were told it had spread throughout his body. He's taken a turn for the worse so Steve is flying down to Sydney tomorrow to spend some precious moments with him. I'll update you all on Steve's progress when he gets home and we get everything rescheduled.

thanks Shelley and Gabe. Steve made it safely to his dad's. His dad unfortunately isn't going very well and his doctor's say less than a week. So very sad. He's a lovely man. I'm so very glad Steve is there with him but also wish I could be there with Steve. This is going to be very hard for him. Steve's dad is at home and they have home care hospice coming in for him.

Gabe not sure about Steve's surgery yet. They said just to ring when he gets home and they'll reschedule it. Not sure if he will have to start hbo again and do another 4 weeks then surgery or if they will work something else out for him. We'll tackle it all when he gets home.

Feeling a bit sad tonight. I'm very fond of Steve's dad. Wish I could be there with him also and with Steve to support him. I realised today I can't protect Steve from everything. Wish I could but I can't. His dad is sleeping at the moment and is not in pain so that's all we can ask for. thanks for your love and hugs girls, it's very much needed at the moment xxx

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers everyone. Sorry I haven't posted for a while. Steve's dad sadly passed away on the 1st of November. Steve was with him at the time. He had battled melanoma for many, many years and when he had heard it had spread to other parts of his body and spine he pretty much had had enough. He'd accepted it and thankfully steve got to spend almost a week with him before he passed away. He's now at peace, which we are all grateful for.

On a happier note, Steve has now returned to work. He's doing fantastic and the smile on his face at the end of each day when he comes home is just wonderful. He is back at HBO and surgery is on Monday. Then 10 more HBO dives and we can hopefully move on with life again. It's amazing how much we are looking forward to going back to 3 monthly check ups. Anyway I will keep you all posted on how surgery goes on Monday. Take care everyone xo

So sorry about Steve's Dad - I hope there is some level of comfort knowing he was ready and that he is now at peace.

Brilliant news about Steve and his job!!! This is a very solid step into the rest of your life together. Not to mention how this has obviously further improved Steve's view on life.

Such a strong man standing alongside an equally strong woman.

Hi dear girl, my thoughts are with you and Steve. My father died of melanoma. It spreads fast and is a tough one. I am deeply sorry for your loss.

Congratulations to Steve on his new job! What a great feeling it is to get back to parts of life that were derailed by OC! I am happy for you both!

It seems like life has settled in quite nicely for you and Steve since the move. Best wishes to Steve during surgery. I hope he has a speedy recovery and gets back to bringing smiles home to you every day!

Love,
Sandy
