dx mucoideperdermoid stage 1 .9cm tumor removed from lower left tongue 5-3-11 rad 5-31-11 till 8-10-11 three weeks off in june 9 days in hospital healing mouth from radiation burns. 33 days of radiation.wife is caregiver peg tube july 7-11 age 59 male.

You are doing a great job taking care of your father! You two are almost across the finish line!
I hope they have everything under control and he gets the full benefit of the supportive care hospital stay. It sounds like they are keeping close watch on him. That's good.
Don't forget to take time for yourself--make sure you are getting lots of rest and some time to concentrate on other things besides cancer. You certainly deserve it and I am sure you could use it!
Ex-spouse MISDIAGNOSED with SCC-HN IVa 12/10. Tonsils out 1/11. 4 teeth out 2/11. TX Erbitux x2, IMRT x2 2/11. 2nd opinion-benign BCC-NOT CANCER 3/11. TX stopped 3/11. New doctors 4/11. ENT agrees with 2nd opinion 5/11. ENT scoped him-all clear 7/11. Ordered MRI anyway. MRI 8/22/11 Result-all clear.

He is able to speak little bit, infection is almost gone, hearing on right ear has improved. And well, he has resumed his chit-chat fight with my mom and I consider it a definite positive sign!
Doctors have given him strict instructions to drink plenty of water and gargle with Soda Bicarb/Salt as many times as possible in a day.
