| Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 128 Senior Member (100+ posts) | OP Senior Member (100+ posts) Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 128 | hi, my father is 4 months post surgery and is doing amazing well, of course except for the "discomfort/pain" he experiences in his lower part of his jaw, which is all titanium plate.. the past few weeks he has been on an antibiotic for some leaking under his chin where the incision is from the jawsplit.. he had 3/4 of his tongue removed and the portion he does have left developed a white film which the ENT said was thrush.. anyone familiar with this? today was one of "those" appointments.. :-(.. thank you again! concerned daughter..

You don't want this to get out of control. Should probably also have Nystatin. He should not be eating anything 'white' until this is cleared up.

I do know thrush can be very painful and stubborn to go away. Your father should be on the medications Eileen mentioned.
