Age 58 at Dx, HPV16+ SCC, Stage IV BOT+2 nodes, non smoker, casual drinker, exercise nut, Cisplatin x 3 & concurrent IMRT x 35,(70 Gy), no surgery, no Peg, Tx at Moffitt over Aug 06. Jun 07, back to riding my bike 100 miles a wk. Now doing 12 Spin classes and 60 outdoor miles per wk. Nov 13 completed Hilly Century ride for Cancer, 104 miles, 1st Place in my age group. Apr 2014 & 15, Spun for 9 straight hrs to raise $$ for YMCA's Livestrong Program. Certified Spin Instructor Jun 2014.

Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 3,082 | One thing to watch out for is that Cypress makes two forumlations of 1.1 Flouride. There is the SF 1.1% GEL that is perfect for flouride trays and the SF 5000 Plus which does not work well in trays. While both are 1.1% flouride prescriptions, the SF 5000 is subtitle "prescription Dental Cream" while the Gel is subtitled " Prescription Gel". My pharmacy simply could not get it right because their computer brought either one up as exactly the same. They had to special order the Gel but now they understand.

Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 383 | Yes, like David I've been using the SF 5000 since post treatment. Inexpensive and seems effective (?). I brush it in well and no rinse for at least half an hour (Per Dentist instruction).

SCC right side BOT/FOM; DX 1-25-06; Neck dissection/25% of tongue removed 2-17-06. Stage 2 Recurrence 7-06: IMRTX35 & 3X Cisplatin ended 10-18-06. Tumor found 03/18/13; Partial Glossectomy 03/28/13 left lateral tongue. Nov. 2014; headaches,lump on left side of throat. Radical Neck Dissection 12-17-14; Tumor into nerves/jugular; Surgery successful, IMRTX30 & 7X Erbotux. Scan 06-03-15; NED! 06-02-16; Mets to left Humerus bone and lesion on lungs-here We go again! Never, Ever Give Up!
