Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 383 | I just got involved in that entire Thyroid deal after 4 years out. Energy went "Flat" a few months ago along with some of the other symptoms discussed here. PCP found it in last blood test about 5 weeks ago. Surgeon told me last week it was from "The gift that keeps on giving" (Radiation). I told him at least I'm still breathing! We both chuckled over it!!! He said PCP made a good call and now it was a matter of figuring out dosage (To David's point). So glad we figured it out as the energy loss had me concerned. Thanks to all here for the insight ahead of the curve.

SCC right side BOT/FOM; DX 1-25-06; Neck dissection/25% of tongue removed 2-17-06. Stage 2 Recurrence 7-06: IMRTX35 & 3X Cisplatin ended 10-18-06. Tumor found 03/18/13; Partial Glossectomy 03/28/13 left lateral tongue. Nov. 2014; headaches,lump on left side of throat. Radical Neck Dissection 12-17-14; Tumor into nerves/jugular; Surgery successful, IMRTX30 & 7X Erbotux. Scan 06-03-15; NED! 06-02-16; Mets to left Humerus bone and lesion on lungs-here We go again! Never, Ever Give Up!

Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 5,260 | Minh, after over 3 1/2 yrs, I am cold most of the time too. I have no idea why but hate that feeling of cold but am glad I am here to be cold. LOL Probably gonna be hot where I and up in a few years. Wish I could help ya.
Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 179 | Thsnx again everyone. Went to my GP and he's doing a few tests Inc TSH to make sure it's not the thyroid. I agree that it's very frustrating that we have to depend on OCF rather than all the medical staff. Boy am I glad OCF is here. I have learnt so much from everyone on this website. The most important thing I've learnt is that you have to be your own advocate. Before I got on this website, my thinking was "I'll leave it to the experts, they know what they are doing". Little did I know then!!!
Both my ENT and RO are so busy that I always feel like I have to rush. But like I said, there is only one place that does radiation in Perth so I dont really have a choice. At least I have you guys to help me along the way. Many many thsnx.

While waiting for resection - cancer returned,2 new cancerous lumps
Re-section End May & flap from cheek attatched. Margins clear.
Mid June - 4 teeth out
Mid July -32 Rads and 3 Cisplatin
6th Sept 10 Finished Treatment!!

Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 179 | I have realised now that i was going through withdrawel symptoms from getting off Ativan and reducing my Fetanyl patch. Shivering, sweating, anxiety, insomia etc - all withdrawel symptoms. Patty have you got your thyroid checked out like everyone said to me? Sorry to hear you are still having such a hard time.
