Hey guys sorry I have been absent for so long. Been busy with school and organizing the OCF walk. I have also been selling fundraisers for both my boys for school and boy scouts.
I am worried again. I have a new lump that has popped up on the left side of my tongue this time. It is near the edge and is very red and painful. There is also a tiny white area on my tongue. Did I mention it hurts and often wakes me up a night. I am scheduled to see my periodontsit on Monday because my gums continue to receed and not I have swollen and painful gums that will not heal no matter how much I clean them. Anyway, I really hope this is just some stress thing since it is on the opposite side. I am keeping myself busy and trying not to think about it, but if my tongue just brushes my teeth the pain in bad. Just touching this part of my tongue is painful.. Hoping it goes away before my next MO visit in a week.

Angelia - I'm so sorry you are having to deal with this. Until you see the Periodonist on Monday, isn't there any way maybe he could give you something for the painfull gums? You are doing so much to help others, you certainly deserve to have a little relief for yourself. I hope you don't have to wait until you see your MO next week. Sending positive vibes your way.

I had something similar, got all freaked out, and it turned out to be thrush! I hadn't even considered that.

Here's hoping your lump is also benign. Annoying, but benign.

What color is thrush? I can not wipe this away either. My tongue on the left side is swollen. My peridoontist ordered me some antibiotics until I can get in on Monday.

Thrush is white and some say you can wipe it off, or scrape it off your tongue, but every time I get it, I can't. I've even been diagnosed and treated for thrush when my tongue wasn't even very white. Hopefuly, what you have is that. I've had red bumps pop up on the inside of my cheeks, and ENT dr. says they'e from clogged saliva glands. They take forever to go away and are painful. I use the Magic mouthwash stuff that I've been using since day one. Prayers heading your way. It seems there's always something, doesn't it?

Well, first round was a white coating on the tongue with a raging sore throat but last time I had a painful, hard bump, quite similar to how my tumor started. After two or three days of the anti-fungal it was gone.

I have nothing white on my tongue, and it is inn just one small area right now. I can definitely feel a lump in my tongue. UGH

Hi Angelia. My sister had a lump on her tongue kind of what you are explaining. After a biopsy it turned out to be a granuloma. Tomorrow is a new day to speak to the dr about it. Please keep us posted.

Thanks everyone. This lump appears tp be changing each day. I now have mild ear pain whenever I move my tongue and just trying to eat solid foods is very painful. It seems like dejavu. Same thing happened the first time around. This time I hope someone will listen to me.
