Sept the 18th. I will be attending and am very excited about it. They want me to speak, and I'm hoping I can do it. I'm not real good at speaking in front of a crowd, I'm getting nervous already just thinking of it!!! Any suggestions? I really want to do this to get the word out and to represent OCF. If anyone from the site is going I would really like to meet you. Have a good day. Linda

I just wrote my speech for the walk, and was looking for anyone who would let me email it to you or post it and get your opinion and help on it. Like I said, I'm nervous about this and would like to know if my speech is ok. Thanks, Linda

That's what so great about this site. All the help and kindness that come from everyone. I truly want to help in the awareness and fight against this cancer. So maybe someone doesn't have to go through what I had to endure. Thanks again. Have a great day! Wish me luck.....

The weather was beautiful, the park where it took place was also beautiful. I'm not sure how many people were actually there, but I'd guess around 100. I thought that was good for the first walk. The dental students who organized it were so nice, and they did a great job. Yes, I even made it through my story. I got emotional a little, but didn't "lose it" like I thought I would. Got through the whole speech, and my family said they were proud of me. We are all looking forward to going again next year! I met a family who was walking in memory of their daughter. She was only 24 years old when she went through this. It was so heartening to talk to her Mom. Well, I hope we did some good. I'll be in touch, and thanks for your support. Have a great day!!! Linda

So glad it went well!! I was thinking of you the whole day!
I actually heard from Gaurav Shah, who organized the walk, he said over 210 registered for the event, and maybe 180 actually walked/ran. So it was a great turnout for a first time event!! He did send pics they are on our facebook page, and it looked like everyone had a great time!!
I knew you would do well. When you are passionate about something it comes thru no matter what!!!
Thanks so much for all you have done for oc and OCF!!
Susan
