You might think about sending an e-mail or a private message to our resident accountant, davidcpa, to pick his brain on tax-deductible medical expenses, including the deductibility of travel/lodging/etc. costs for medical reasons.
I know that won't help immediately with any financial pressures, but it could be useful to have that information already pulled together come tax time next April.
(And congratulations on your pregnancy!)

April 2006: Husband dx by dentist with leukoplakia on tongue. Oral surgeon's biopsy 4/28/06: Moderate dysplasia; pathology report warned of possible "skip effect." ENT's excisional biopsy (got it all) 5/31/06: SCC in situ/small bit superficially invasive. Early detection saves lives.

As to payments for all this, there is something that I would like to say to you that I cannot say openly on the forum as technically my opinions can be construed by some as to be that of the foundation (which they are not)- send me a PM

Congrats on being pregnant! I'm glad you got some good news among all the stress of your mother's illness.
From what I understand, MDA is the best place for your mother to be treated. I'm glad you were able to get her there so quickly.
I will keep your mom in my prayers ... and you too!
Susan
