How many stages are there for oral cancer? What is the life expectancy after diagnosis? Is there a cure?

For information about oral cancer, check the main pages of the OCF site -- all vetted by OCF's science advisory board, which is made of up leading researchers and physicians who deal with head and neck cancers every day. For example, staging information is here.

You can also get to the main pages' search engine by going to the bottom of each message-board page and clicking on the gold Search link.

April 2006: Husband dx by dentist with leukoplakia on tongue. Oral surgeon's biopsy 4/28/06: Moderate dysplasia; pathology report warned of possible "skip effect." ENT's excisional biopsy (got it all) 5/31/06: SCC in situ/small bit superficially invasive. Early detection saves lives.
