Just got back from the post-op visit. The doc says it's healing nicely. He also said that because the surgery is for future use and my muscles are young and healthy, the more trauma and resulting pain to my otherwise healthy stomach muscle tissue (also explains all the muscle spasms I had early on).

Linda - I'm glad Carol is feeling better. My treatments also begin on 2/8! We can compare notes. Feel free to email me any time ([email protected]).

Chris

Steve - You are too funny! -looking forward to that future baby soft skin LOL

Teresa,
Thanks, I actually started drinking a full glass of prune juice each night. So far, still stopped up! I ended up using a supository for relief. I am now at 1 1/2 weeks post-op and still need the pain meds, only not so often and not so high a dose. The PEG pain is do-able - now just feels like very sore stomach muscles. My neighbor is a retired RN and says it's normal for some people to take up to a month for the PEG to 'settle down' in its new home without the muscles fighting it. I started chemo/rad treatments today - so far so good - no nausea but I do have a bit of a headache. I'll be posting under a new post title re: this new experience.

Thanks again,
Chris

im not sure what difference it makes--drinking vs injecting in PEG--but injecting seems to work for andy when drinking it didnt seem to. the RO mentioned that doing this put it "straight to the source".
good luck with ur treatments.
