I can not swallow at all, and so have a hard time getting all the mucous up from the pneumonia. My tongue is horrible and bleeds at the drop of a hat. I do ahev the pain under control now, and have more meds than I ever thought possible. I now have to take stuff for acid reflux, motility, and yeast in my mouth. On another note I made many wonderful nurse friends while at the hospital and was able to be a light to them on the oncology floor. They had some sad times while I was there, two people passed away and they had several code blues on my floor. They atually said it is not very often that someone gets to go home. I also posted a pic of me and my favorite nurse on my facebook profile. Now you all can get a name with a face. I do have some radiation burns, bur you can barely see them and they almost look tan.

No matter how miserable a person feels anywhere is better than the hospital. Here's hoping that you see great improverments.

Glad to hear you are out of the hospital - now you can hopefully continue your treatments without any more unexpected problems. That was a cute picture of you and Stacy (nurse) you posted on Facebook. She has a caring face.

All the nurses there were awesome except the one who spiked my codeine with a sleeping pill and did not tell me until after she did it. Needless to say I let administration know what she did and that I did not want her as a night nurse anymore. Here was her comment "Well you need your rest, and you have not been sleeping." Isn;t that my decison? My Dr. even said that I had to ask for it and no one should give me one without my consent. When I told him he said he would take care of it. Needless to say i did get some sleep that night, but woke up choking, which is the very reason I did not want to sleeping pill because of the mucous.

At least she seems like she was your only problem nurse during your stay. I'm happy you had a good experience but it's always nice to be home. It's sounds sad that they lost 2 people and had 2 code blues. I'm happy you were one of the ones who got to go home. You are a special lady. You made me laugh when you said the radiation burns look tan....lol We just have to find the humor in this mess don't we?

I was at the very end of the hall, so fortunately I did not hear and was not around the noise.
