Does anyone know what durable medical supplies are in relation to OC and the treatment of? Does it include a pump for the PEG? According to the oncology social worker at the hospital the supplies include walkers, canes, wheel chairs. She is mailing information, applications, etc., but I was wondering if anyone on this forum would know. The pump is another option I want open for Carol in case she has problems with the gravity feeding when she gets her PEG.

Elcee...that would depend on her insurance company. They are the ones to define what is covered or not. When you need something..have the doctor(which ever one you have the best repore with) write a script for it. I would assume that yes, a pump would be included and perhaps a suction machine (lots here got relief from mucus buildup with the suction equipment).

You have so much to worry about right now, but I would encourage you to just wait and see on this matter. Most durable medical equipment places can get things to you within a day or two. I am speaking from experience...I ordered a Therabite for Bill that he never really needed or used.
