 Joined:  Jun 2007 Posts: 5,260 |   Good job Brickster.. this will be from all of your scans.   Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan.  I averaged  about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there.  w  Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube .  Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

 Good luck on your scans...my hubby T had same type of c as you...treatment was similar too. He coughed alot after treatment and has since stopped. I thought it might be from the healing of all those radiated tissues as I am sure that the dry mouth didn't help much either. Good luck to you and speedy healing!

T2N2aMx stage IVa; 1/20/09 bilateral neck dissection, hemiglossectomy, micromets in 2 right nodes, left all clear. 33xIMRT + 3 cisplatins. Tx completed 5/08/09. PET scan 7/29/09 clear, 5/26/10 clear, chest x-ray 5/23/11 clear

 If your cough happens when eating or swallowing it is possibly related to radiation.  I had severe problems with inhaling food or water for 3 or more years after treatments.  Happily these problems have mostly resolved.
   Mark, 21 Year survivor, SCC right tonsil, 3 nodes positive, one with extra-capsular spread. I never asked what stage (would have scared me anyway) Right side tonsillectomy, radical neck dissection right side, maximum radiation to both sides, no chemo, no PEG, age 40 when diagnosed.
