I ended up going to urgent care yesterday because I was so spooked by what I felt. They tested me for strep, negative. I asked him to glove up so he could feel for himself. He asked me to show him. How is that possible when it is on the back wall of your throat? He didnt do as I asked, it seemed to make him uncomfortable. However he did see puss pockets(cant remember the medical term) in the back of my throat and diagnosed me with pharyngitis. He told me to rinse with saltwater and take antibiotics, although my sorethroat is all but gone, as well as my feelings of being feverish and achy. I guess it just had to run its course, but a five day sore throat? Maybe we just feel things more acutely. I still might go to my ent just to be sure. I was irritated that the guy wouldnt palpate inside my mouth. He did say he may have felt a slightly enlarged lymph node on left side, but could be because I'm so thin. I immediately felt and felt nothing unusual or different than I normally feel. But still I panicked. Thanks for listening guys and thanks for your responses. I'll update if necessary, or hopefully I wont have to. smile
