Hi,

My partner completed chemoradiotherapy for tonsil cancer T1N2a in mid November. He did not have a neck dissection as he had had his secondary tumour that presented as a branchial cyst removed together with a lymph node before treatment began and had a clear neck in a PET/CT scan taken August 13 2008.

Post treatment he had clear PET/CT Feb 4. He has been suffering from quite bad lymphedema since January and he and his dentist recently noted that his submandibular gland on the side that is treated is larger than the other side, although there is no lump. He says it feels quite tender and swollen. We have an appointment with the onocologist on the 8th April, but I wondered whether I should be concerend and try and book him in for tomorrow instead.

Has anyone got any advice?

Thanks
Cathy
