In research I've discovered that another combination is Carboplatin and Taxol, which is also very much like Cisplatin and Texatere (but maybe not as toxic with radiation). I have to ask.
Maybe it's me, but sometimes I feel that doctors get on a certain treatment regimen, and really don't look at the various options. I know that happened to me with induction therapy. My doctor was going to put me automatically on Cisplain and radiation until I questioned more aggressive options. So, to be honest, I'm don't trust doctors 100%.
My doctor is very good, but I don't really click with him. He seems sparse with information.

Sandy 56, BOT SCC Biopsy 1/21/09 Stage 3, T3NXM0. Finished 3 cycle induction chemotherapy 4/7/09. (Chisplatin, 5-fu and Texotere). Re-staged 4/20/09,(very successful.) Will start Carboplatin/radiation 2 Gy/5 days/7 weeks (Tomotherapy) starting May 4th. Finished 6/22/09. OCF member/supporter
