You'd be surprised to see what I am eating. I am not that many years removed from smashing up food for my babies and I haven't forgotten all of the old tricks. Who knew how tasty a mushed up banana could be? And this is one I might be able to market: smushed up frosted cupcake, mixed with milk. Even the kids liked that one. And so easy to swallow.
I am anxiously awaiting the swelling to subside a little bit. My face is as hard as a rock and that's pretty uncomfortable. Some of the numbness is starting to wear off and I am actually noticing a few new pains that were masked by the numbness. Aside from the obvious incisions, it's pretty banged up in there, lots of random scrapes and cuts.
I feel so lucky to have come through this so nicely. I really was expecting to be knocked completely on my butt for a while. I don't feel like dancing, but I am perfectly able to sit on the couch with a magazine. It is actually quite fun to just be able to rest when I feel like resting. I am usually the caregiver at my house. Caregiver to perfectly able bodied individuals, mind you. The last couple of days have been really nice for me. Someone smashes up food for me. I eat. I have pain, someone brings me my pills. I am tired, I take a nap. I just might milk this for the whole four weeks!!
Thanks for you thoughts and food suggestions. Sorry Amy M, no oysters for this girl, though I am sure that they slide down quite nicely.
Amy
