It sounds like your recovery from treatment is going along as well as can be expected. Lets hope the MRI results in good news. If not, a neck dissection can be done in ways that spare some of the permanent nerve damage. Be sure to explore options with the surgical team, if they suggest surgery.

Mark, 21 Year survivor, SCC right tonsil, 3 nodes positive, one with extra-capsular spread. I never asked what stage (would have scared me anyway) Right side tonsillectomy, radical neck dissection right side, maximum radiation to both sides, no chemo, no PEG, age 40 when diagnosed.
