Hi all,
The first time I had a flu injection (19 years old), it was from the recommendation of my 'then' GP. (I'd had a few episodes of bronchial pneumonia from the age of two years old). After that injection I was laid low with colds/flu, for the whole year. So, I was rather wary of having another one.
This year I was advised to have a flu injection - I'm 2.5 years since last radiotherapy Tx - and I have had 3 to 4 colds/chesty infections in the space of 3 months!
All during my radiotherapy and other appointments I travelled on buses, in cars with other people sniffing, sneezing and coughing, plus being in waiting rooms surrounded by others with colds/flu, and I never became ill. It amazed me (and others) how I did't catch any cold/flu, albeit with a compromised immune system!
I don't know if it's only me, but I did dread having another flu injection this year in case I would have a dose of a cold or flu. Well, I'm still battling on with a few 'colds'

I'm never having another shot again!...just my experience...
Cheers!
Tizz
