| Senior Patient Advocate Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 8,311 | I am not a doctor just a seasoned survivor so you need to leave the medical decisions up to the experts but here in the U.S. there is a recent trend to shorten the time that they dispense the 70 gy as opposed to spreading the Tx period out with the thinking that the cancer is killed more effectively. Some now are radiated twice a day for a shorter period and some are radiated twice on Fridays only. Most here really do not want their patient to miss any rad Txs so I have no experience with the concept of splitting the rad Tx up as you have described.
I will say that your cancer (I assume it's SCC) is extremely aggressive so whatever you and your doctors decide, do it soon.

Jun 07, back to riding my bike 100 miles a wk. Now doing 12 Spin classes and 60 outdoor miles per wk. Nov 13 completed Hilly Century ride for Cancer, 104 miles, 1st Place in my age group. Apr 2014 & 15, Spun for 9 straight hrs to raise $$ for YMCA's Livestrong Program. Certified Spin Instructor Jun 2014.
