Memphis-based Supportive Oncology Services Inc. today launched its cancer support Web site, www.understandingcancer.tv, which has information that was once only available to patients at approximately 90 oncology practices.

The site is much like its own cancer survival television network. Cancer survivors tell their stories on one series of programs. On another show, a chef shows how to make healthy meals for cancer patients. Other programs focus on cancer news, exercise, medications, meditation and upcoming events. The site also features celebrities who have been touched by cancer, including the cast of P.S. I Love You, Crankshaft cartoonist Tom Batiuk and cancer survivor of The A-Team fame Mr. T.

Information on the video-rich Web site was developed, reviewed and approved by a national editorial board comprised of community-based oncology professionals throughout the U.S. It also complies with standards set by the Health on the Net Foundation.
