Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to give a quick update on Mary-with the kids home for the summer I never seem to get any time on the computer!
Mary is doing really well over the past 6 weeks. She recovered very well from her MRND, just as everyone here said- the "easiest" part of this whole thing. Her PEG tube was removed one month ago, and trying to maintain her weight has become a part-time job-but she is doing it!! It takes her sooo long to eat, and everything still gets stuck in her teeth and cheeks-but it is going down well. As with most of you, the dry mouth is annoying but tolerable she says.
In late June we had gone on a "girls weekend" and she was able to meet up with someone that she had gone through radiation with, and he was light years ahead of her even though they finished RAD at the same time. I swear, it put the fire back in her- she was so mad his tube was out and he was going out to eat, that she came home and was a very determined woman! We even played our first game of raquetball last week, and as usual I lost!
Next week she returns for her 3 month checkup, and I think a PET Scan and CT will be lined up soon, so I will continue to pray all comes back clear. She prefers not to think about all that right now, but I am sure there will be a lot of anxiety waiting for those results-just as there is for most people here.

Once again, I thank all of you from the bottom of my heart. You all helped me help her since she couldn't bring herself to use this site.

Liz
