Hi Andie, can't relate to the chemo effect of "ringing in the ears", but I have had tinnitus [ringing or static in the ears] for about 10 years and it is constant. I have found that any kind of background noise-ie-music, t.v., a floor fan going, helps distract the noise. When it's quiet or when I am very tired is when I have the most trouble. If it's chemo induced, hopefully it will go away, but in the meantime, tell him to try some pleasant background noise to help deflect it. Amy in the Ozarks
