When I left the hospital I wasn't given any instructions on daily care of surgery site and was discharged on a Friday afternoon so no one was available to call until Monday. So my question is what are some of the things I could be doing to help myself heal. I can hardly get down jello and am learning to swallow. I feel like a nail was driven in my left ear and throat. Also, prior to surgery I had to stop taking aspirin and plavax. Does anyone know how many days you would normally wait before resuming those? The nurse I called at the hospital said there were no instructions or prescriptions and to just resume what I had been taking.
SCC left tonsil, tonsillectomy with additional tissue removed 06/10/08, a few teeth on top left side removed 09/05/08,recurrence before treatment started at BOT and tonsil area, 35 IMRT treatments began 10/15/08, and Cisplatin IV (began10/16/08) weekly for duration of radiation.
