Like many others, in my first 5 years out from treatment my acute xerostomia was something that I struggled with. During that time I tried two different accupunture practitioners. Sorry to say that neither produced results in me. I am one of those that wanted something to work so bad, I might have had a placebo response to even trying, but in the end it made no difference to me. In these tests, remember that they looked at patient's impressions, which is not the same as a finite measurement of salivary output, measured by some definitive means. Response to it can be a highly subjective thing, depending on who is telling you it worked. We have had many posters here try it over the years, and I haven't really seen a bunch of them come back and say WHOPEE!!.
