I only recently finished treatment, but I was tired - alot - until recently. I'm not back to the energy I had when I was 20-something, but I have hope that I'll get there in the next few months!

My GP increased my anti-depressive, that didn't help.
My HN surgeon said it was lingering 'radiation hangover'....okay . . . .

At my last checkup, I asked my GP to check my thyroid, cholesterol, etc and she did a full panel. She found my vitamin D was really low and she said that was what was making me tired. She said our bodies make less as we get older. Given my new cancer history, sunlight as a treatment is out of the question.

She gave me a prescription version of vitamin D and it is amazing. I take it once a week for 13 weeks, then once a month for life. In 4 weeks, I have seen such a dramatic improvement. I didn't realize how tired and exhausted I really was until I started feeling better. My mom has suffered from exhaustion from time to time (and she does have thyroid issues) but nothing, including the thyroid meds, have gotten her back to her previous energy levels. She's getting hers checked this week.

Vitamin D levels might be worth looking into.

*not all vitamin D is the same - your physician can tell you what type would be best for you, if you need it.
