My salivary function never returned, and it took about 4 months for 90% of my taste to return. It has stayed there with sweets being the one that didn't return completely. It is all a function of the glands exposure, and for how long. IMRT people have a slightly better result than most since their radiation in many cases can be mapped around the parotid glands, at least partially depending on where the primary lesion is located.
