The growth is a keratoacanthoma (try saying that five times fast). I guess there has been some debate over the years as to whether or not these are malignant, but modern thinking seems to be that they are a low grade malignancy similar to a SCC. He has seen hundreds of them, and will remove it in two weeks. He sees no long term issues.
