The Jevity only has 250 calories per can, so my mom would need two of those to get the same number of calories(actually a bit less) than the Carnation VHC. To be honest, I think it all depends on what you can tolerate. My mom was given Nutren (I think that was the name) when she was in the hospital last and she wound up getting sick every time she ate.

Good luck with this. We have been through a lot with the PEG in a very little amount of time - less than 3 months, so I am happy to help.

On another note, the other thing that was helping my mom when she was getting sick was to use Pedialyte instead of water as her liquid when doing feedings. Since she was getting sick so often from Ethyol injections we were doing anything we could to help keep the food down and get her some nutrients/vitamins/liquids. We give her the non-flavored variety through the tube with all of her feedings and meds now, and that is working great.
