I am 8 weeks post treatment, and a week ago had a thyroid biopsy via fine needle aspiration. The biopsy was quite difficult(he took 7 samples)and lengthy. I ended up losing my voice and had very painful swallowing for almost a week after. The doctor said my neck was so full of scar tissue from radiation that the needle didn't want to go in. My question is this---should I be massaging my neck to break up scar tissue?? I do neck and jaw exercises, and use plenty of lotion. I guess I was afraid to massage my neck (thinking it would hurt it somehow) and the doctors didn't mention it.
