OP Platinum Member (300+ posts) Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 349 Likes: 2 | as you might know, my ENT is at least 3 hours from home, and my normal ENT and team is 3,000 miles away -- BUT, I have been fortunate enogh to have a GREAT oncologist move just 10 mins our lodge in Mendocino!
He is awesome, respectful, intelligent, funny and hopeful.
He is NOT a H&N specialist, but has had a dozen or so cases, and knows his stuff pretty well. He is also quick to admit when something is beyond his expertise.
Anyway, since it is such a small town, I was literally able to see him with 30 minutes notice TODAY!!
He looked at my lesion and surrouding tissue and is Not alarmed, he says it looks like maybe it's from the thrush and not to worry.
I'm going to see him again in a few days for another look and as luck would have it, I am having my 3 months follow-up in just 2 weeks at UCSF so I'll have it examined more then too, maybe I'll ask for a laraygoscope (?)too...
