My mom had surgery due to osteoradionecrosis. She had an open wound and exposed bone for two years it gave her many problems then her jaw broke because the bone was so damaged so she was forced to have the surgey where they replaced her jaw bone with a bone from her leg and a titanium plate. I know that Minnie had the same surgey but not due to OR. It is a very intense surgey but my mom is a lot better since and she doesn't have any pain anymore. She got false teeth and she has problems with drooling but overall she is much better and no longer in pain which she lived with for years. The surgery is definately doable and made my moms quality of life much better. You can send me a private message if you need more info
