I developed a red irritated area on the tip of my tongue that is because of a sharp part between two teeth. Because we don't have as much salvia these things can be worse than the "average" person would experience. By all means have it checked but the tip of the tongue is not a common area for this cancer
Mark, 21 Year survivor, SCC right tonsil, 3 nodes positive, one with extra-capsular spread. I never asked what stage (would have scared me anyway) Right side tonsillectomy, radical neck dissection right side, maximum radiation to both sides, no chemo, no PEG, age 40 when diagnosed.
