Shelley - There are a number of possible causes of lumps on/in the throat. Its just too easy to imagine it to be something really bad. Some of the 'harmless' lumps could become irritated with rubbing. Your doc is the place to get real answers. Don't let panic and worry steal your energies, or spoil your week. You all learned how to fight in the first round. You can do it again if you have to. Be strong. Keep us informed. Tom
