Depending on the size of your company and how good communication is "within" the company, I might go to the person in charge of making the downsizing decisions and put the question to him\her bluntly, stating that you will need to quickly begin looking for employment if your position is to be elimanated. And you would like to continue with this company in another capacity if your position is no longer there. Talk about how long you have been there and the contributions you can continue to make because of your knowledge and skills. Good Luck. Amy
