Hi, my name is Peggy, wife of Scott who finished his radiation treatments on 12/5/03 for stage iv SCC of the tongue and tonsil. Since he finished his treatments, he is sleeping ALL of the time. At first I thought it was ok as the body needs to rest in order to heal. Right before Xmas he was hospitalized for dehydration because he was sleeping around the clock and wasn't taking in enough fluids. Here we are 5 weeks after treatments and he is still sleeping between 16-22 hours a day. He would probably sleep even longer if I didn't wake him up to eat and drink. He never woke up yesterday until 8:30 p.m. Is this normal? I am trying to get him to go to his doctor and he is refusing to go. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!
