I had them for about 6 months. they were sharp and after about two weeks they could be removed by scraping them off. Curiously no one thought they had anything to do with radiation....

The good news is they stopped occuring after 6 or 8 months.

Mark, 21 Year survivor, SCC right tonsil, 3 nodes positive, one with extra-capsular spread. I never asked what stage (would have scared me anyway) Right side tonsillectomy, radical neck dissection right side, maximum radiation to both sides, no chemo, no PEG, age 40 when diagnosed.
