I am posting this here, as a few have mentioned taking Vitamin E as a preventative. A little over a month ago the doctor in charge of the Iressa study wanted me to take two doses of Vitamin E along with a blood thinner to help with softening the neck muscles. About a week later when I picked up my July issue of Consumer Reports, I read an article under CR Health (page 55 of the July issue) that was entitled "Vitamin E: Now it's thumbs down"

What alarmed me about the article the most was the reports from various Vitamin E trials, including this sentence "In a second trial, the same dose of the vitamin nearly tripled the risk of new cancers among 540 patients undergoing treatment for head and neck cancer compared with placebo. Stopping the vitamin appeared to reduce that risk."

I have immediately stopped taking Vitamin E. But I also decided to look on the internet.

There seems to be alot of websites if you put in "Vitamin E+head and neck cancer"

Just thought I would post in case anyone else was interested.
