Hi Julie.Robs wounds smelt horrific,and within a few hours of him being in the hospice you could smell it right down the corridor,the nurses had a machine that sucked in the air in his room and filtered it out again.Within about 2 hours the smell had gone.They also plugged an electric air freshener in under his bed that was filled with an odour killing essential oil.The only other thing to do is just keep changing the dressings evry couple of hours.

Ask your care nurses Julie they will have encountered this before.
