Now, will everyone be wearing a flower/ribbon/pin/tie/hat so that we can pick each other out in the crowds? smile (Or we could all duct-tape some popsicle sticks onto fingers and just hold up hands as a signal)

Tom and I will probably get into town sometime on Friday. If anyone is interested in getting together that evening, let me know. I'll have my sister find a good meeting place. According to Dan's plans, we'll not be able to stay up late, however! Getting Tom up and out by 7 AM will be a REAL challenge!

I sent Eileen info on a beachfront hotel in case anyone needs some help. Tom and I like this one.
The Seahawk is an older hotel with out-of-style furniture (think the '50's!) and a certain quaintness. We especially loved being able to open the door to the balcony and leave it open all night long...fresh air and the sounds of the surf!
They are charging $65 a night for that weekend in April; pretty cheap, really. If the weather is nice, you'll be able to at least sit on the soft sand - - the water will certainly be too cold for even a big toe!

THE SEAHAWK MOTEL HAS ALWAYS BEEN A FAMILY FAVORITE.
IT IS REASONABLY PRICED. YOU GET JUST AS MUCH FOR YOUR MONEY AS YOU WOULD IF YOU HAD PAID $200/NIGHT DOWN THE STREET. IT IS CLEAN AND WELL MAINTAINED.

Decent Place to Stay

Overall:

GOOD: My wife and I found the accomadations clean and convenient. The staff was friendly and attentive. They didn't kiss our butts like a 5 star, but they didn't charge 5 star rates.
On site parking, near a convenience store and 3 diner type resturaunts.

BAD: The final bills had an error in their favor.
We hated the airplane type pillows on the beds.



Overall:

Our room didn't have microwave oven or coffee maker as we were expecting but we found the staff very friendly and helpful. They let us check in early with our 2-year-old. We were also able to make reservation in the last minute in August. It is a great location: it is close to the action but the beach is not overcrowded. This hotel is not new and fancy but clean and friendly.
