This is a PHASE ONE trial.... Please do not post things about early trials like this. Besides Shel is on top of this stuff in the news section. When they get to stage three, years from now, the conclusions will be bearing fruit or not. Stage one trials don't even have an idea of dosing levels, and there is more that is unknown from them. They are VERY PRELIMINARY. Over the next few years targeted therapies may be a reality for H&N patients, and Irressa which didn't do so well in other cancers, may find a niche. But I think that it is more important for you to be thinking about living your life right now, getting mentally back on your feet, ENJOYING survivorship, than thinking about a drug that might help a person in recurrence...which if you are LUCKY, will never be part of your personal vocabulary. COX 2 inhibitors have been explored for at least 10 years in this arena, and if you read some of my old treads on chemoprevention, I was even taking them since the data looked good. Of course that's before we realized that they had a link to causing heart issues. There are some herbal COX 2 inhibitors, and the best one seems to be one called Inflamed, but they are significantly weaker than the inhibitors that were used in the early COX 2 trials. I take this stuff for all my old injuries that are now painful. Don't get trapped in being a study wonk
