Was in the drugstore the other day and saw that they had an amazing display of dry mouth and sore mouth products (more than I had seen anywhere). One item I picked up was a mouth wash/coating agent for mouth ulcers called Rincinol, made by GUM. It contains the same ingredients as the prescription product GelClair including the glycyrrhetinic acid (from licorice, I believe) that is supposed to be the main coating/soothing agent. It is, however, far less expensive! I don't know if it's new or just hasn't been mentioned lately on the forum.
Barry tried it and said that while it is not as good as GelClair it does help to ease throat and mouth pain, and it is easy to take with you as it comes pre-mixed in a bottle or in individual dose packs. He used it today at the hospital as we have a long day (radiation in the morning and chemo in the afternoon) and have to eat lunch up there. He used it before eating, and found he didn't need to take a pain-killer.
