Hang in there girl you have a ways to go.
I know Jerry is getting treatment and being well looked after, but, you have to be very aware of your own body too. The stress of being a caregiver is quite horrendous, I ended up resorting to Zoloft for 6 months and it was a lifesaver for me. Keep in touch and feel free to vent away.
Is he on meds for nausea? Make sure he stays well hydrated, that was what put Pete in hospital and you absolutely don`t want him in there.
