Chapstick is a worthless product. My wife is an esthetician and gave me some Epicuren Lip Balm (and it's SPF 15 also) and it worked really well for me.
It does have some tea tree oil in it if that bothers you.
During the late radiation phase my lips were peeling constantly (daily even) and it worked really well then.
