Wondering if anyone has had their MD order a PET scan to check to make sure everything is clear 6 mos. after surgery. My mother is scheduled to have one. Her doctor did not see anything, but says he wants to make sure because if something is to recur it is usually within the first 2 years. He also said that 50% of positive results with a PET are false positive and would require him to do a biopsy to make sure. Just curious if others have done this.
