Hi all-

I know I haven't posted an update in quite some time but I just couldn't pass up sharing some good news. Don, my husband, finally went back to work today after being gone for 1 year. I was worried...will he over-do on the first day...will this set him back...etc, etc. ...you know how wife's can be. But I must tell you that the look on his face and his entire body demeanor when he walked in the door at the end of the day will last me a life time...he looked GREAT! I could have never imagined how much this would make a difference. He says it feels good to get out there and contribute to society and to our household. Though he is tired and had to take all his meds with him to work...we are glad that life is getting back to a little bit more "normal" than this past year has been.

No, he is not 100%. Life with the ringing/crackling/popping in his ear; difficulties eating; and the saliva issues will probably be around for a long time to come...but I am just glad he is around to "have" all these issues. When his oncologist released him back to work he told us that without the treatments would definitely not be here today...that was scary to hear, but it made us realize how very blessed we are. So, side-effects and all, he is still cancer-free as of his 6 month post-treatment CT scan and they say they believe "unofficially" that he is "cured".

I know we often times just talk about the 'bad' stuff on this site, so I wanted to share our GREAT DAY with all of you and thank you for all your wonderful posts.
