I had a white patch on my tongue very similar to what you're describing and mine ended up being dysplasia (pre-cancerous) Even though it's dysplasia they still want to take it all out. If they didn't get clean margins of normal tissue they may have to go back and get the rest. Here's hoping that they got everything. The waiting game is the worst.
